This recorded number is close to the 200,000 passengers predicted to travel through PITX on Holy Wednesday, the day expected to be the busiest during Holy Week as it marks the last day before the long weekend begins—Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday,
Due to this, the influx of travelers is still expected to continue on Maundy Thursday, albeit in slightly fewer numbers, as PITX predicts passengers in its terminal to peak at 185,954.
Meanwhile, PITX earlier issued reminders for those travelling to their provinces to pack light, stay alert and mindful of belongings, as well as to book bus tickets in advance.
It also reminded passengers that sharp objects and other flammable items that could cause fires are strictly prohibited.
As of April 15, PITX said it has already confiscated 35 of such items.
