Hot weather expected in Luzon, rain in Mindanao on April 27

MANILA, Philippines — Most of Luzon and parts of Visayas will have hot and humid weather, while overcast skies and rain showers will prevail over Mindanao and other parts of the country on Sunday, the state weather bureau said.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), easterlies will bring fair weather in most parts of Luzon and Visayas, while the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will affect Mindanao.

“Easterlies will bring scattered rains in portions of Visayas, Bicol Region, and Palawan,” weather specialist Benison Estareja said in Filipino in a morning forecast.

“On the other hand, most parts of Mindanao will see the effects of ITCZ. We expect cloudiness and heavy rains there,” he added.

Pagasasa also monitored cloud clusters far east of Mindanao, but Estareja said none of them are expected to enter the Philippine area of Responsibility and develop into a tropical storm for the rest of April.

Meanwhile, no gale warning was raised on any of the country’s seaboard.
