MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau said the Visayas, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Batangas, and Quezon province will experience overcast skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms on Sunday brought by a low-pressure area (LPA).
Based on its 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was spotted 310 kilometers (km) northwest of Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte, or 55 km south-southeast of Cuyo, Palawan, as of 3 a.m.
Meanwhile, it said that Metro Manila and the rest of the country may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to easterlies.
Pagasa warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms in low-lying parts of the country.
