3 hurt in Leyte gun attack
ORMOC CITY — Three persons in a private van were wounded when at least two unidentified men fired at them in Barangay Manlawaan, Tabango town, Leyte on Friday, May 9.
The victims, who were only identified in the police report as “Boy,” 57; “Tibor,” 63; and “Arnol,” were brought to the Tabango Community Hospital for treatment.
Four other passengers of the van were unharmed.
Initial investigation conducted by the local police showed that the victims were in a van from Barangay Gimarco when they were ambushed at around 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
The passengers managed to disembark from the vehicle.
They told the police that the perpetrators fled to the mountains after the shooting incident.
A hot pursuit operation is being conducted to arrest the assailants.
Investigators have yet to determine the motive behind the attack./das
