PH, US hold maritime cooperative activity in waters off Palawan

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and its counterpart in the United States conducted the 6th bilateral maritime cooperative activity (MCA) in the strategic waters of Palawan and Occidental Mindoro on Tuesday.

Among the assets deployed during the MCA were the Philippine Navy’s BRP Ramon Alcaraz (PS16), BRP Domingo Deluana (PG905), and an AW109 naval helicopter, according to the AFP.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) Pre-Trial Chamber I has granted the Prosecution’s request to extend the deadline of disclosure of arrest warrant materials as well as the identity of witnesses in former president Rodrigo Duterte’s crimes against humanity case.

In a five-page decision dated May 20 and signed by Presiding Judge Iulia Antoanella Motoc, the chamber ordered the Prosecution to complete the disclosure of the arrest warrant materials related to relevant witnesses by no later than July 1, 2025 — pursuant to the Prosecution’s request.

DOTR’s Dizon: 200 additional buses on busway for Edsa rehab

Around 100 to 200 buses will be added to the Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (Edsa) busway amid the rebuilding of one of the country’s major thoroughfares, according to Department of Transport Secretary Vince Dizon on Wednesday.

Dizon said that this aims to provide relief to commuters in the coming months.
