ILOILO CITY — Actor and musician Julian Estrada backed out of a scheduled performance at Epic Bar in Boracay on Saturday night, May 24, after he was mauled by a group of men during a night out in the famed island.

“To everyone expecting to see me at Epic tonight, I won’t be able to make it,” Estrada announced through an Instagram Story.

“Got caught in a really unfortunate situation last night. I need time to recover, both physically and mentally. Appreciate all your understanding and support. See you soon,” he added.

Estrada, son of Senator Jinggoy Estrada, was attacked around 2 a.m. Saturday, May 24, while walking near the beachfront mini-mall in Barangay Balabag.

Reports said he had just exited a bar when three unidentified men approached and ganged up on him.

One of the suspects reportedly landed the first punch and threw him to the ground before the others joined in.

Local police confirmed the incident but withheld the victim’s name.

However, Estrada’s Instagram post served as indirect confirmation of his involvement.

The motive behind the attack has yet to be disclosed.

Senator Estrada reportedly flew to Boracay the same day to personally speak with authorities.

The three suspects were arrested shortly after the incident and are now in police custody.
