Magnitude 4.3 quake rocks Samar – Phivolcs

MANILA, Philippines— A magnitude 4.3 earthquake shook the province of Samar on Saturday evening, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In its latest bulletin, the Phivolcs said the tremor occurred at 7:52 p.m., and it was tectonic in origin.

The quake’s epicenter was located 7 kilometers northeast of San Jose De Buan, Samar, with a depth of 20 kilometers.
Instrumental intensities were recorded in the following areas:
- Intensity II – City of Catbalogan, Samar
- Intensity I – City of Borongan and Can-avid, Eastern Samar
No aftershocks and damage to properties are expected from the tremor, said the Phivolcs. /mr
